In-home Mental Health & Addiction Rehabilitation

About Us: Our History

In 2008, Brett Shurman, M.D decided to form ISISrecovery to address a clear need for in-home, life-skills oriented, rehabilitative services. While running a successful private practice in Los Angeles, Dr. Shurman found that his clients often left hospitals and residential treatment programs (rehabs) stabilized and filled with hope, but without a good step-down, transitional program. In-patient programs were good, but did not mimic the challenges that clients faced in their own homes. Clients often left facilities having learned bad behaviors from other patients at the facilities. Some clients were not suitable for or willing to go to residential treatment facilities. Dr. Shurman partnered with Carol Langone, LCSW and Wei-I Wang to provide a new model of treatment to address this need.
